What factors should be considered when looking at the financial investment in coaching? 2017-12-07T20:30:15+02:00

Working with a coach requires both a personal commitment of time and energy as well as a financial commitment. Fees charged vary by specialty and by the level of experience of the coach. Individuals should consider both the desired benefits as well as the anticipated length of time to be spent in coaching. Since the coaching relationship is predicated on clear communication, any financial concerns or questions should be voiced in initial conversations before the agreement is made.

Usually your first conversation with a coach is free of charge. He or she will try to help you identify your goals and both of you will determine if the relationship “feels right” in terms of the chemistry. A coach should make you feel at ease, relate to your personality and be able to objectively help you reach the goals you have set for yourself. It is common practice to interview your coach to find the best fit for you.

What does the Coaching process look like? 2017-12-07T20:30:15+02:00

Coaching typically begins with a personal interview (either face-to-face or by teleconference call) to assess the individual’s current opportunities and challenges to identify priorities or goals to work on. You and your coach determine the number of coaching sessions which may be conducted in person or over the telephone, with each session lasting a previously established length of time. Sometimes clients complete exercises between sessions.

What are some typical reasons someone might work with a coach? 2014-09-11T10:28:42+02:00

Some of the most common reasons people choose to work with a coach are to build self-awareness and confidence, gain information and resources for career development, make career transitions, understand issues holding a career back, identify and leverage core strengths, or gain perspective when work and life are a bit out of balance.
